ADMIRALS CUP!
IM SAILING THE ADMIRALS CUP!!
Established in 1957, The Admiral's Cup is honoured throughout the world of sailing as the unofficial world cup of offshore racing. for 2025 the event makes a grand return to the sailing calendar and I stoked to be apart of a sailing team representing Yacht Club de Monaco
The Admiral's Cup is an international yachting regatta. For many years it was known as the unofficial world championship of offshore racing. The Admiral's Cup regatta was started in 1957 and was normally a biennial event which was competed for between national teams. However the event was not staged in 2001 and was last held in 2003 and was cancelled at short notice in 2005. The Admiral's Cup makes a grand return in 2025 being held in the centenary year of the Royal Ocean Racing Club, attracting teams from across the globe, rallying their finest talent.
To compete for the Admirals Cup teams must enter consisting of two different classes of boats representing a country or yacht club. Teams that achieve the best combined scores from the two boats will win the event. Held on the island of Cowes and racing in the Solent, the event will kick off on Friday 18th July with the opening party followed by the first day of racing on Saturday. A short offshore course laid by the race committee. Next is three consecutive days of exciting inshore racing that will be intense and consist of tight battles around a windward, leeward race course. To finish off the event the final race will be the one and only Rolex Fastnet Race, considered one of the classic big offshore races with a distance of approximately 625 nautical miles, testing both inshore and offshore skills, boat and crew preparation and speed.
For this incredible event I will be racing with Jolt sailing team representing Yacht Club de Monaco. I will be sailing on board the fast 40 Jolt, Skippered by Pierre Casiraghi and with some close friends and fellow sailors from Team Malizia including Boris Herrmann, Will Harris, and Cole Brauer. Other popular names within the professional yachting industry will make up the rest of our crew as we take on the Admirals Cup challenge. The second half of the YCM team will be TP52 Jolt 3, skippered by Peter Harrison, a YCM member and owner of Jolt sailing team.
Im incredibly excited to be apart of this campaign as we look to start training in April and to build our teams expertise through events leading up to the Admirals Cup such as the Myth of Malham race and the IRC Nationals. It will be a fierce few months of training and racing building up to the event as we will fight to be competitive against other well polished teams. Racing in the Solent, the Channel, and the Fastnet Race will deliver some of the best conditions for yacht racing and I cant wait to get amongst it!!
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
