The start of a new and exciting partnership has begun. Oakley Marsh and Southern X Racing has partnered with Big Blue Ocean Cleanup, a partnership aimed at creating awareness of the challenges we face with ocean pollution, educating on how we can improve and taking action!
What is Big Blue Ocean Clean Up?
Big Blue Ocean Clean up is a non profit organisation that is tackling environmental challenges we are faces with today head on. Not only are they creating awareness and educating people about ocean pollution, but they are taking immediate action. Initiating BIG OCEAN CLEANUPS around the world, with their mission to protect and restore the world’s oceans and our marine eco-systems. Big Blue Ocean Cleanup is an organisation pathing the way to a cleaner and healthier future.
Connected through sport
The ocean is intricately connected to sailing, as it provides the vast expanse where sailors navigate, and explore. Throughout my life I have been hugely connected to the water, from surfing in the waves to sailing on the ocean. I have driven myself to become a professional sailor -It is my job and it is my passion. I depend on the ocean, as it is my workplace and place to do the sport that I love. More important than ever the ocean’s needs to be protected and this new partnership with Big Blue Ocean Cleanup is a chance for me to use my profession to create an impact.
Big Blue Ocean Cleanup will be joining Southern X Racing on sailing adventures, sharing their message across oceans and through sailing events. Connecting sport and ocean conservation with goals of creating big clean ups alongside sailing events in order to keep our race courses clean and tidy.
